Kaleva Bottle House Museum 
Open for season May 26

The Bottle House Museum in Kaleva is open on Saturdays and Sundays from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and Saturdays through October. Located in a unique historic landmark home made of bottles, the exhibits feature local history, the Finnish immigrant experience, the Makinen Tackle Collection, the Kalevala murals (a WPA/NYA project) and an archive of family photos and history. Located at 14551 Wuoksi St. 231.362.2080. Donation $3.00 per person. 

Kaleva Depot Railroad Museum
 
Open for season May 26
 

The Kaleva Depot Railroad Museum is open on Saturdays from Memorial Day to Labor Day 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM. See railroad memorabilia, a M&NE restored engine and artifacts from the days the train passed through Kaleva many times a day. Located at 14420 Walta St., 231.362.3481 or 231.362.2080. 

Sauna Dedication
June 23, 2018 at 1pm
The Kaleva Historical Society will be dedicating a new sauna in the backyard of the Bottle House Museum.  We have many visitors to the museum that inquire about Finnish saunas.  Now we will be able to share a key component of Kaleva's Finnish heritage.  The sauna was built in the traditional Finnish style.  The dedication will be at 1pm.  Traditional Scandinavian music will follow along with refreshments.
  
Kaleva Days
July 20-22  2018 all weekend 
 
The Kaleva Days festival will be held the 3rd week of July 2018.  Music, 5K walk/run, bake sales, ballgames, food, church in the park, parade, games and fun.  Look for brochures in the area for times and specific details.

Finnish Line 5K Walk Run

The Finnish Line 5K walk/run will start at 9:00 AM on the Saturday of Kaleva Days, July 21, 2018. Register on site at the Bethany Lutheran Church on the corner of Kauko St. and Wouksi Streets or call 231.362.3519.  Entry Form
 
Kaleva Historical Society Bake Sale

Get fresh baked goods at the Bottle House Museum from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.  Don't miss the nissua (Finnish cardamon bread)!

Concerts at the Log Cabin
Fridays in August 7:00 PM 
Concerts on the Fridays in August at the Log Cabin Outdoor Theater, Panu and Walta Sts., Kaleva. Donations accepted. Bring a lawnchair.

Christmas Celebration - Kaleva Bottle House

The Kaleva Bottle House Museum, 14551 Wuoksi St., will be open on Sunday, December 6, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM for a special Christmas celebration. Traditional decorations, the Finnish Heaven, music and refreshments will make this a memorable visit. 

Kaleva Art Gallery Open House

The Kaleva Art Gallery will be open for the annual Holiday Open House from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM on December 6th.  Unique handmade crafts, cards and works of art are available for purchase.  Come enjoy Christmas goodies and find the perfect gift.

Winter Solstice

Annual Lighting of the Cemetery on Winter Solstice, in Kaleva. Starting at 4:00 PM on the longest night, hundreds of luminaries are placed on graves in the Kaleva cemetery to honor loved ones. Meet at 14701 Metsola Ave. to help with the luminaries. There is a soup supper at Kaleva’s Bethany Lutheran Church at 5:30 pm. All are welcome.
